Infectious Diseases

Introducing 15 new diseases and 9 new medicines, and one Plasma Injector designed to give a special ability, into the world of Ark might sound like a bold move to some, but I believe it’s a fantastic way to make the world feel more dynamic and immersive. Not only does it enhance the sense of realism, but it also adds a deeper layer to the survival aspect of the game. With all but five of the diseases being contagious, interacting with other survivors becomes a thrilling risk in itself! These diseases are divided into three distinct categories: Environmental, Creature-based, and Foodborne, ensuring a variety of challenges to keep players on their toes.

Environmental

These diseases occur randomly, with no specific cause other than simply existing in the environment.

Common Cold
Grippe
Spanish Flu
Sunlight Xeroderma
Death Strain

Creature-Based

Creature diseases are contracted through the bites of specific creatures, and each comes with compelling reasons why you might not want to cure them immediately.

Shellshock (Carbonemys, Archelon, Megochelon) - infinite stamina
Hog Syndrome (Phiomia, Daeodon, and Andrewsarchus) - 15% increase to melee
Agentavitis (Argentavis)- 25% increase to health
Remitting Fever (Maganeura and Ants) - 25% increase to Weight, and 10% increase to Speed
Feline Hysteria (Thylacoleo and Sabertooth) - 10% increase to both Melee and Speed
Raptor Pox (Raptor) - 25% increase to both Stamina and Speed
Shark Bite Fever (Megalodon) - 3x max Oxygen

Food Borne
Be mindful of what you eat—ensure your food is fresh, properly cooked, and definitely not poop. The silver lining? Your garden will flourish like never before if you contract one of these diseases!

Settings:

The mod includes a built-in Admin Settings Panel, giving you full control over how it operates. With this panel, you can customize your server by toggling contagious diseases, entire disease categories, or individual diseases on or off. Additionally, you can adjust the likelihood of each disease being contracted, tailoring the experience to your preference.

If you prefer using INI commands instead of the in-game UI, simply add the following code to your GameUserSettings.ini file. Start your server, then stop it again. Afterward, return to the GameUserSettings.ini file, where you'll find all the codes automatically generated. The default values are provided below for reference, and you can adjust them as needed. Note that all numerical values are clamped to a minimum of 0.0.
